Inkling practice
Unlimited words
Same game as the daily, without the wait. Every round deals a new five-letter word and gives you six tries to find it, and when you are done you can start another straight away.
Practice games are kept separate from the daily wordon purpose. They do not count towards your streak, your win rate, or your guess distribution — statistics you could farm by reloading would not tell you anything, and a half-finished practice round will never overwrite the daily board you were saving for later.
What the colours mean
Green means the letter is in the word and in the right place. Yellow means it is in the word but elsewhere.Grey means it is not in the word. Turn on high contrast inOptions to swap green and yellow for orange and blue.
A good way to practise
Practice mode is the place to test opening words. Play the same first guess for a dozen rounds and you get a real feel for how much it actually narrows things down, which is hard to judge from one puzzle a day.
It is also the low-stakes way to get used to how repeated letters are clued, which is the part that catches most people out: the colours account for how many of a letter the answer holds, not merely whether it holds one.
