How to play

A small five-by-five grid holds two across words and two down words, crossing at four shared letters. Tap a cell to select it and type a letter to fill it in — typing automatically moves you to the next cell in that word. Tap a clue in the list below the board to jump straight to its first cell. The puzzle is solved once every cell matches its answer.

Five puzzles are available from the dropdown below the board, each with its own small theme. Switching puzzles clears the board for a fresh start.

Tips for a stronger game

Start with whichever clue you're most confident about, then use its letters to help with the words that cross it. On a grid this small, solving even one word usually gives away a letter in each of the two crossing entries.

Turn on "Highlight mistakes" below the board if you'd like a filled-in letter marked in red the moment it doesn't belong — useful for checking a guess, and easy to turn back off once you'd rather work it out yourself.
